DOES ANYBODY KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS ITEM????

I recently went to an estate sale with a friend and picked up this Camaro license plate frame. It is solid brass and heavy. There is a copyright date of 1982 on the backside. I was wondering if anybody knew if this was a special dealer plate frame or just a generic Camaro plate frame. It does not appear to ever have been painted. The guy selling it did not know much about it other than it was old and he had it a while....
