Default new forum - parts for sale question

Hi Gents,

Is there is a reason why I cannot reply to my thread in the parts for sale section? I can edit the post but cannot reply. If I'm missing something please advise.

Thanks,
Dan

You'll find your answer in the sticky at the top of each classifieds forum:

NEW REVISED CLASSIFIED AD RULES - as of 4/20/10 - MUST READ!!!

I read that, Rob, thanks. I did not realize the re-only format included an inability to add to your own posts in reply format. Sometimes when I receive a thought provoking question I like to post it publicly because it normally means I left something out.

Would it possible to amend the rule and be able to post in your own thread?

Just a thought...

No...to the software, to allow the original poster to reply means anyone & everyone can reply as well. We did away with the replies in the Classifieds because too many folks felt obliged to offer their opinions, when they had little or no bearing on the topic, and it was becoming a nightmare for us to police.

I did drastically lengthen the edit time in that section so the original poster could go back and edit their post should any questions/comments arise, or in the event that the item is sold the owner could mark the ad as "sold".

...and to add to that, if an item is sold please mark it sold ASAP. In the event you no longer have the ability to edit/mark it as such, please PM a moderator and we will mark the item sold, and eventually remove the ad entirely.

As long as you can edit your own ad you can amend or add any info you wish, there is no need to "reply" to your own thread to do this.
