Default Motion Performance stickers

I was messing around online looking at decals and keep seeing the round Dyno-tuned Motion Perf stickers. Did they put these on cars they not only converted to super cars or did they put them on cars that were tuned by them? Also which ones are correct I see some are Blue and yellowish orange with a red MP and some are white and black with a red MP?

They used to be on the counter and you could put them on anything.

This one is an original 30 yr old sticker.

There were several which can be considered correct, but some are considered earlier designs- obviously appropriate for early build cars while others emerged later on as the business flourished.

Some of the more correct and popular designs look like these below. Note they are used to show the designs and I make no comment about subtle differences or lack of correct font and such between the ones pictured and real one.

Understand this, those stickers are like all th other ones you get with your parts. They are used to promote the product or company. The cars that they knew were going to be featured in the magazine got the special sticker treatment.

The Dyno tuned ones may have been reserved for cars which actually were dyno tuned. Speculation on my part but I'm sure there were still exceptions to that even if it was their policy.

What did you have in mind for the decals?

I was really just messing around online looking at decals and started thinking that I only really see the yenko tuned decals on some cars. Rarely will I see a Berger decal but I never see any Motion ones. I saw a cool looking Motion Dyno Tuned decal here http://www.bonanza.com/booths/FindersGar...unique_15387955

I've never seen that decal before and thought it was cool and I like the round white and black MP decal as well. I thought it would look cool on my tool box or even the rear passenger windows on my chevelle. Just cause they are different and I like to be different from the rest. I wouldnt dare to try and pass it off as a Motion car (its just a little white Malibu with a 350)but just think itd be cool to see around the local shows here. I cant ever remember seeing an actual Motion car of any kind in person. I've seen Yenko's, Berger cars but never a Motion.

I display a Motion sticker as well (autographed by Joel) it's always a good conversation starter at gatherings and has helped me reconnect with guys from the old neighborhood.

I'm not sure how Joel decided what car might have gotten what sticker or if sometimes he just told the guy's to make sure they put a sticker on each car they worked on.I was informed years ago that cars worked on got the Dyno Tuned & that the Dyno proven sticker was the sticker sold to anyone who wanted a blue & yellow sticker. All stickers probably have a certain time period, i don't know the certain breakdown from blue & yellow to black & chrome to white & black w/ red. Maybe someone with more info or had worked there can chime in.

As far as I can tell, the black white and red circule sticker was the earlier of the three. The Black ink on most has faded to a dark blue.

The Blue and Yellow ones seemed to come about in 1969- possibly half way through.

I've never seen the chrome looking ones until 2003 when Joel was handing them out at the SCR reunion. They seem to be a bunch which have shown up since then. Can anyone confirm when they 1st owned a chrome one?
