Default Need Recomendations for ZL1 Block Repair

I have a Feb. 69 dated block and have decided it's time to get it fixed. It needs some welding and new sleeves installed. Does anybody know of a reputable builder in Southern California that has experience in aluminum and can handle it?

I have a couple leads for you Gregg:
Total Performance in Santee619)562-9894 did the machine work on my ZL-1 block and can probably do the work or will know someone that can.

Auto Power in Oceanside: (760)722-1556 welded up and re-machined a valve seat on one of my 074 heads.

Be sure to have the sleeves notched if you plan on 7/16" rod bolts.

Any numbers on the block? The OE engine from our ZL-1 resto years back went to CA.

Greg,

Thanks for the tips. I'll check them out.

William,

The block was decked at some point. I bought it from a guy in Salem, Oregon. It has the name Alvey stamped on the deck now.

Thanks.

Our ZL-1 engine went into a '71 Camaro PRO car and was raced in NED for two seasons. They built a Vega for '73 and sold the Camaro intact to someone in CA.
