A few weeks ago I went to start my 1969 Corvette and the battery was dead. Since I don't drive the car very much I decided to bite the bullet and finally purchase a battery tender type unit. I had read good things about the CTEK units and that they are compatible with Optima batteries.
I bought the 3300 model and, as soon as it arrived, I hooked it up. At first I selected the car mode and, after having it connected for a few days without completely charging the battery I figured I would look at the manual (I know, I know) The manual suggests selecting the mode that looks like a snowflake when charging Optima type batteries so I changed the setting. The battery has been charging with this setting for nearly 24 hrs and it still isn't fully charged; could my charger be bad right out of the box? |

It takes a while for the charger to get the Optima fully charged......I leave mine on for a day or two to get it up there.......

If the battery was substantially discharged, it will probably take a few days to charge back up 100%. I've heard if discharged enough, these Optima Batteries may not charge back up 100%.
