1970 LS5 Chevelle

Looking to trade my '69 Chevelle L78 4 speed for a '70 LS5 Chevelle in Fathom blue with white stripes. Must have docs, restored, stock, buckets, cowl induction, and numbers matching. Will consider auto or 4 speed.

Details of my Chevelle. Numbers matching with a partial buildsheet. M21, factory 4.10 gear car. Buckets,console, gauges, 34K original miles, frame off restored, Burnished brown, brown vinyl top, black interior.

Interesting read on TC about that particular Blue LS-6 chevelle.To bad they locked it,as I could've added to the discussion.
That's a great color combo,but if that owner is claiming ignorance about not knowing it was a re-stamped block,then shame on him for not doing his homework,if that's the case..
Numbers matching does not mean the original born with assembly line engine.It should,but so many have abused this phrase for decades that it is now understood to mean that the numbers match the vehicles' and that's all we're going to say about that.
Adding the word &quot;Fresh&quot; in front of &quot;Numbers Matching&quot; is just a passive way to cover up a newly re-stamped block to the unsuspecting.

I personally looked at this car back in the summer of 1996 when it was for sale at Duffys in Iowa,and I recall the salesman Steve there clearly knowing and saying it was a re-stamp back then.It was even hinted to in the original Hemmings ad 16 years ago.It was listed for sale in the following mos. as well.
Back then I went through the car and found other inaccuracies,but the re-stamped block was obvious &amp; not a secret.
It was obvious to a few others there looking at it that day too.
We all left individually without buying it,after thanking Steve for his time &amp; honesty.
Steve didn't believe it to be the original born with engine either,even though it was dated A 18 70,but he wouldn't tell us why.
Several years later I ran into the new owner of it in Pa.,and he too knew it was a re-stamped block.

Looking at my notes on that in '96 day,among other flaws,it didn't have the correct 837 alternator,No A.I.R.,wrong coil,both ex. manifolds were wrong number &amp; dates,crank pulley wrong,no spiral shocks,starer motor wrong,and radio didn't work.Gas tank was a 72.
Here's a few photos of it from back then,showing 70K miles.
Compare them to the photos Todd posted on TC and you can see some work has been done in the engine compt.

..and I remember this from 11 years ago,from who I believe is the same TC member asking for value on TC,as he said he's owned it for the last 15 years.
