Default '70 Chevelle Interior

I have posted this over with the chevelle experts but haven't had much response so I thought I might try here.
Thanks.

Damien,

Did you trying calling SMS, they do make mistakes......I know this
Tell them your original bench seat is nothing like their pattern.
Email them good pictures of your original seat patterns. I bet they have it and they just made a mistake.

I`m fortunate to live where I live, as there are a lot of Interior Shops that have been in business for a Long Time.....I have had luck finding odd ball patterns.

Dan

Damien,
are you sure that is the original River Cloth bench seat in your car.
I have owned a few River Cloth Bench seat cars and the pattern was nothing like that.
It was like these photos.

Thanks for the replies guys.
I am thinking that what is in my car is not original and haven't been able to find what it is.
I will recover the seats with the correct material from SMS but one thing I cannot seem to find is the vertical striped vinyl back panel. Doesn't seem like that is available.

Damien
Later today I had a chance to pull my Dealer Sales Album that has real cut out Swatches of all the cloth seat samples and I can confirm that your seats were definitely switched at some point, so they are not correct for a 1970 Chevelle.

I think Legendary Interiors do the cloth seats for a 1970 Chevelle but I am not sure

Danny, thanks for checking, you have confirmed what I had thought.
Dan put me on to Legendary but unfortunately they don't have the cloth.
I will order the correct material from SMS and have a trimmer over here make and install the covers.

Dan, you have got me thinking about the amount of material and making sure I have enough. A long way to go for a little extra if I'm short! SMS have told me 3 yards of cloth and 5 yards of vinyl will do the front bench and the rear seat. I have found that a yard is 36"x56" so I will measure up roughly tonite and might get an extra yard of each just to be sure. It's not cheap but will be cheaper than being short.

Good plan Damien

As far as the back section that may not be available.....if your interior guy is good.... can he reused and color dye the back section to match the new material.
