Default front runner tires?

What's up guys, since I'm getting the 15x4 cragars they have currently have 5.50 moroso drag special tires. Obviously I can't run them in the street so I was wondering what was a popular tire you would run on a 15x4 back in the day? I see cooker has some. I'm guessing they would have to be a bias ply for the look. Also want the right size! Probably a 6.50-7.00? Any pics would be great! Thanks!

Can you give us a picture of what you are working with? I'm of the opinion that there some good choices which are a balance of the old look, reasonable clearance and drivability- then there are the real deal tires that would be awful for the street are not poser tires in any way. How authentic are you looking to be and what is the rest of your package?

I just got some Firestone 7.10s for the front of my '69 W-31. They have the "ridges" on the outer edge and have the "look" I was seeking. I will change BACK to the other tires when I get back to the track---the 'Stones are very heavy. I have several sets of Cragars (various sizes, front and slicks) already mounted. The Firestones were readily available and weren't terribly expensive.

I have Moroso Drag Specials on the front of my car with no problems. I probably wouldn't put them on a daily driver but they're fine for a weekend car.

I'm with Mark as I too am running 7.10-15 Moroso Drag Specials on my Chevelle with 15X4 Cragar SS wheels. It's a little bit of a challenge but I love it and the look.

Technically the wheels aren't street legal along with the tires but I've never had an issue.
