Those were the days. 1979. Got my first 327, a '67 275-horse with 1.94 camel-humps, carb to pan, out of an Impala SS at my buddy's uncle's wrecking yard. I was 17 and had $110 bucks to my name stuffed in my pocket. We pulled it out and his uncle came by to see how we were doing. I reached into my pocket and Mr. Karnes said, "You can have it." He remembered being me. Not a DZ 302 but still the good old days.

I had to pay $300 for my 68 MO 302 out of a wrecked LOW mile (? 3200 miles?) 68 Z28 in 1972. That was the BEST $300 I could have ever spent, it went into my 56 Del Ray, then into another one then back into a 68 Z
