Local car friend is doing some resto work on his 69 Chevelle. It is a BB clone...
Engine is 68 396/325hp version...with 69 setup for the alternator. It is a power steering car as well. He took the motor out to 'refresh' the engine bay...now he is putting it all back together. Now for the problem...crank pulley appears to be about 1/4" too far in to align the belt...he doesn't remember if it was 'off' before. Here are the pulley numbers; Crank...3972180 CE 20 [N stamp on mounting side] Water Pump....3976059 AO Any help would be appreciated. tom

The crank pulley appears to be the correct, '69 up, part, but the water pump number comes up as a bb part. I haven't seen it listed as interchanging with an sb. Could be the pump pulley is too far out to align with the crank groove.

Doh, that was 6 lines above the part number...short memory.
The crank pulley is for a small block. 3955290 is what I find for a '69 396/325 with PS. I didn't find any specs on offset to compare alignment.
