Default 2000 to 2007 Chevy/GMC trucks WARNING

Documented the saga of my three dead batteries in one day.

Then, documented how the 04 Yukon XL Denali had some electrical issues after installing a new battery. All those have resolved.

This evening decided to put the engine covers back on. Had to remove the main and RS cover while piddling with the throttle body.

Barely hit the heater hose fitting on the firewall (5/8) and it snapped. Crap.

When I started pulling the nipple out of the hose, it came out in pieces. I could take parts of it and literally crumble them between my thumb and index finger. Once I got the aftermarket adapter off (so one could just clamp a 5/8 hose in place instead of using the goofy GM set up), I could see "Made in China" on the side. Checked the rest, and none of them have that.

Put a good adapter on and all is good.
If you have aftermarket adapters on any of the Chevy GMC trucks, from this era, better check them out. I am 100% certain this one would have snapped and spewed coolant next time I drove it in the heat.
