Default QL Code Rear

The rear in my '67 SS (build date 12D) has the following codes stamped in:

QL 12 21 G

The date code is good and I am convinced the rear is original to the car, but what about the QL code? I have not been able to find this code in any reference book?

The gear set is 3:31, open diff..

Thanks for any help on this!

Thanks Mark! Do you have this in a reference book, or may I ask where did you get the info?

Sam, Jeff is correct, but it is also in Jerry McNeish's '67 fact book and that was in hand when I was reading your post.

Thanks guys! I guess I better get some new books - My CBN (printed in 94) onlyhas the Borg Warner posi unit on P. 314, and 3/4 page of white space!

Also, my Dobbins / Incremona books are older versions, I'll have to get the MacNeish book - does he sell them directly?

Thanks again, I OU

Nice info Denis!

From what I have read, the radius rod was used on all big blocks, and on L48 and L30 with four speed but NOT with powerglide. I believe once the radius rod was phased in, all 12-bolt assemblies received the bracket.

Here's my cowl tag..
