Default Transport from CA to MI

Hey everyone,

New job has me relocating to MI from CA and I have too many cars to drive/tow myself. I searched past posts to get an idea of which companies are better than others, but figured I would see if anyone has had different experiences to date. Specifically, the route will be from Claremont, CA (near Ontario airport) to Brighton, MI. Thanks!

Stay away from Dependable unless the car isn't very nice....I had a car shipped enclosed from Tulsa area....their enclosed door to door means enclosed from their terminal to terminal...the rest of the way to your house is a flatbed tow truck ..I think they must ship mostly Tauruses.I would not recommend them...the clown on the phone told me if I didn't like that I could go to Tennesee and pick it up !!!

Stay away from Platinum Lines too. They spilled a white power like substance over the hood of my original paint 1970 Camaro. It gets worse... The driver of the truck did not put any carpet protection on the floor of my buddies brand new 2003 Corvette. The carpet was ruined from a deep oil stain. Class act let me tell you. The rep on the phone said he would cut us a deal for the problems -- well it’s been 16 months and we have not seen a thing.

Use Horseless Carriage. I will not ship another car I own on a different carrier.

--------Since Reliable is based in Plymouth you could at least pick it up at thier terminal and save the delivery costs to your house. I think that is a preferred route for them so price ought to reflect that, but who knows. I forget exactly where Brighton is but I think its somewhere near Plymouth...........Bill S

I echo what Belair says about DAS aka Dependable Auto Shippers.

I bought a Valkyrie Cycle in RENO in the winter and had it shipped in to me because it was too cold and too far to go get it.

It took over 6 weeks before they ever picked it up. I got it in 3 days after that and then when it got here the dam thing had strap marks and other minor damage that totaled $1200. What did they offer to pay Would you believe $100.

Be wise and use anybody else.

I've used both Passport transport and Peterson transport in the past. I didn't have any problems at all. They were on time. I'm not sure where Peterson is located now. They used to be here in Southern California. It seems as though Passport is now related to FedEx, or maybe owned by them. A buddy of mine used Intercity Lines a year or 2 ago and had no problems with them either.

I have used Intercity exclusively, very professional, newest equipment courteous drivers and more importantly they arrive when they say they will to pick up or deliver. Here's a link http://www.intercitylines.com/

Good luck on the move
