Default NEED INFO on the 70 ss 396 4sp NOVA I bought .

It's #'s match 350hp block to vin ,correct date 12bolt , correct air box , correct crossmember . The body is terrible and I wanna get a nice donor car ....someone told me I would have to watch the floor bracing being different and I saw these cars from $45,000 to 85,000 advertised ....is that really a fair price range or too inflated ? It has a muncie transmission , but no date yet and it's suppose to have a piece that makes it have another gear . How could I tell if it is a COPO also ? Thanks , Richard

The only COPO novas were 68 375hp autos from Fred Gibb, or 70 Yenko deuces, to the best of my knowledge. All 3rd gen novas are basicly the same body, and frame wise with small differences.

Richard, The L34 350 hp 396 Nova will not bring that kind of money. The L78 375 hp Novas for sale here have not sold. The cost of a full restoration on your rusty car. Will be more than the selling price when done. If you are in it to make money. Patch it up the best you can. Get it running. Put it on ebay. Take a small profit and move on. Earl

Richard,

There is a member here that will be coming into possession
of a 1970 L/78 Nova shortly. He needs a few item from this
car for his own 1970 L/78 restoration. I'm sure he will see
this post and perhaps he will contact you about the remainder
of the '70 Nova. Keep your eyes here!

Hey , really not sure .....a guy offered me $7500 and a roller 69 camaro avg. (body only) with 10 bolt no disc for my nova . I do bodywork for a living and thought about a body swap because of what I have in it versus its completed value with me being able to do the free labor , but bottom line ......whatever makes me money . I have the camaro body sold for $3500 if I trade for it ....so I really don't know what route to go . I paid $6900 for the car and gonna cost $300 in fuel/delivery bill ....so those are the figures i'm comparing , but I don't really know the cars REAL value .....just going off what others have said . Now , i've heard anywhere from $30,000 to $85,000 , but they said those were L78 not L72's which are $30,000 to $50,000 .....I dunno . I'm up for offers .....preferrably cash .....not a trade ......car is rougher than heck body wise , but all the main ingredients are there(airbox , crossmember, motor/vin match,12bolt #match rearend ,disc) , and a running driving car on top of it all .....although you wouldn't want to go far the shape it's in . Thanks , Richard (270)590-9055 cell

The Camaro trade deal sounds like your best bet.I have a 70 L78 Nova that needs TLC that I don't know what to do with.I'm not sure of the value of these cars but I know they do not bring as much as Camaros. If your in it for the money the 69 Camaro will certainly bring it.Best of luck,Steve.
