I've seen that particular item go for anywhere from $3000-$5000. Quite rare.

Hi Jason:
Most have rust issues which will determine the price as well as the condition of the louver.i.e. broken studs, pitting which they were known for. The highest I have seen on e-bay was 6700 with a redone perfect louver and a mint hood. We have paid 1000 for one needing a new bottom and 4500 for a perfect one from CA.With those hoods the market is very small so it will all depend on who is looking at the time. The last e-bay one didnot sell with a 4000 reserve. |

Thanks for the info guys. I thought that was about the range. The only one I could find that sold was this one on Ebay: SS 427 Hood
This one is a nice CA hood removed in the early 70's and stored in a barn until now. The insert is pitted but nice. The hood even has the original insulation on the underside. The pin striping helps date the hood ![]() ![]() ![]() Jason ![]() |

You need to store that hood on it's side to prevent damaging the pointy parts.

I did not take those pictures. Those were from the prior owner. It is now on a few fender stands. Never understood why guys left the hoods on the points instead of the sides.

I scheduled the hood to start on Ebay tomorrow night. I decided to put no reserve on it. Now we'll know what its really worth. Hopefully more than one guy needs one

I personally think you will be surprised what you will get. I think there are some people out there that will pay top $$ for a nice SS427 hood. Good Luck!
