[b]Always being a lover of the big cars and having owned several 409 cars, I had to come get a preview
of the items for this auction. Joe Robinson was kind enough to give me a sneak peek at all the things which will be sold the end of this month. The paperwork from the auction company shows that this is a bankruptcy sale. Only the ‘31 Auburn street rod is from a bankruptcy, all the rest belong to Joe, and are his personal property. He owns an old dairy building that all these cars had been stored in. Because he is selling this property he has lost his storage. This is the only reason he is disposing all of this. Joe has been involved in the automobile industry his whole life, at one time owning a chain of engine replacement shops. This is where he acquired a lot of the engines and parts he is selling. They are putting the parts with the cars they belong to, trying to make them as complete as possible. Many of the cars were vandalized by kids while in storage. It is a shame the condition of some of them, as they were saved by Joe because they were special. Joe’s a car guy and kept these because he liked them. He can give you the back story on every car, when he bought it, where it came from, what it originally was and what was done to it. I sure he could make more money breaking it all down and e-baying much of it, but talking to Joe you can see he would like to see many of them put back together. As we looked at the cars he’d say, "I’d take this body and mate it with these SS flor pans, this engine and you’d have a nice car" - - ![]() - - These are some of the parts they are breaking down to match to the donor cars. - - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() - ![]() -
