1979 TA 6.6L 4-speed survivor
Hello friends, I’m selling our 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with 6.6 Litre 400 4-speed. It’s a true Survivor, right down to its original paint. A real untouched, unrestored, low production number Trans Am that has lived a pampered life. The original owner did a fantastic job of preserving and maintaining this fine car, keeping all of its paperwork intact, and kept a date and mileage record of oil changes, lubes and repairs until 2003 when it was sold with only 35,644.1 miles. My wife has driven it sparingly over the past 14 years, and today it has only 41,477 miles.
This car retains 100% of its original paint without any accidents or repairs. All panels are straight without any dings or dents. It still retains its original factory decals (except it’s missing one of the 4 wheel disc decals on one of the door handles) including the original dealer decal. The original owner installed some large mud flaps which protected the lower areas, but have since been removed. The car has hardly any stone chips behind the wheels. Under the hood there is some dirt, but absolutely nothing has been touched-up or fluffed. The original matching and born-with Pontiac 400 (T.A. 6.6) engine runs like a top, as does the original M-21 Muncie close ratio 4-speed transmission. The original shaker hood scoop is still in factory condition and has not been tampered with. I understand that they had left over 1978 W-72 engines that were reserved for the special edition TA’s in early 1979. According to the build sheet, this was one of those early cars built in November 1978. The rear axle is the original 3.23 ratio 12 bolt posi-traction. This car has the WS6 Special Performance package which gave you the 8 inch cast aluminum wheels, 4 wheel disc brakes, special handling package and 225/70R15 steel belted radial tires. I’ve driven this car through the Rocky Mountains and it handles amazingly. Up until a couple years ago, this car still had two of its original tires on the back, but I replaced all four for safety and drivability. This car has one of the nicest interiors I’ve ever seen. The dash, carpet, seats, door panels, headliner, package tray, console and steering wheel look like new, and have never had any panels cut or repaired. Included in the sale will be a binder of paperwork documenting the ownership history including the following original documents: - Window Sticker - Fuel Economy Rating Sticker - Build Sheet - Copy of original owner’s Title - 1979 Warranty Booklet with original owner’s name - Owners Manual - Records and receipts of oil changes and repairs. Burt Reynolds would definitely approve of this car! Please PM me, or feel free to call or text me at 403-8O3-3879. The car is in heated storage and can stay there until transport can be arranged. Asking $33,000 USD or reasonable offers. Will ship to the US ;-]
