What Intake to Use on 1968 427 Oval Port Corvette?
I recently purchased a 1968 Corvette Roadster with a 427/390 and a 4 Speed. Car runs great but the problem is that someone put a hi-rise intake and a 750 Holley with a Spacer and wont clear my stock 427 Hood by about 3 inches. I really dont want to go back to the Quadrajet Intake and Dont have the $$$ to fork over for a Factory Tri Power Setup to fit Oval Port Heads (400 Horse) and retain the stock hood. Any ideas/suggestions as to what I can use to retain the Holley and the Stock 427 Hood. I would rather not change it over to an L-88 Type hood. All the info and web sites I have found clearly state "Will not fit Corvette Hood without Modifications" on all of their intakes. Im not ready to axe a perfectly good hood just yet! Does anyone know if there is a "Low Rise" Oval Port Intake Out there that I can Use. Thanks.

A 163 is a square port, and not a low rise.
