Zedder (Mark Kane's) 1970 LS5 454 Corvette!
Hi Bruce,
Here's the story on my '70 Corvette for the member's rides section... I bought this car back in August of this year from a fellow in Michigan. The car was purchased from Phil Joseph Chevrolet in Winsted, Conn. The original owner ordered the car to his personal specs: Cortez Silver, Black Leather, LS5 454-390hp, M21, Power Windows, AM/FM Pushbutton Stereo Radio, 3.70 posi, White Stripe tires. He babied the car for the next 13 years and only put 21,000 miles on it. In 1983, he decided to sell it and began "interviewing" potential buyers. The second owner was interviewed 4 times before finally being given the OK to buy the car. He owned the car until this past summer when I purchased it from him. He was an extremely fussy owner also and put just 8,000 miles on the car in 25 years. In fact, he was so picky that in 1993 he decided that he wanted the car to be "perfect" so he had the car frame-off restored! This was really a shame as the photo history shows the car was an absolutely beautiful unrestored car before he had this work done. You can even clearly read the frame stencil on the pre-restoration pics. Regardless, the car came out gorgeous and looks as good today as it did the day it was restored. Obviously, these two previous owners also took good care of the paperwork from the car. I have the original window sticker, POP, owner's manual, all resto receipts, titles, registrations, and a complete photo history of the restoration. And of course the car is completely numbers matching with the "born-with" drivetrain. Since getting the car, I have put the original wheels back on with a set of new TA radials and have taken it to a couple of local cruise nights. I plan on having it Flight Judged next year and enjoying it with my Son. Hope you enjoy the pics! Mark

Looks real nice Mark. The VIN is pretty cool too! Almost says 454. A little stutter on the 5 though!

Wonderful car! I get so used to seeing Minnesota rust buckets that it's a joy to see a car that has been so well taken care of. Congrats on finding a beauty!

Still one of my favorite cars on this board. Even after all these years.

Thanks Guys! The guy I sold it to contacted me in November asking if I knew anyone who was looking for a car like his. He put 1,000 miles on it over the past 10 years. I offered to buy it back for what I sold it to him for, but he wants an extra $7,500. I just don’t see that kind of growth in C3’s, so I left my offer with him. Who knows, he may come around once he gets the car back out this Spring.

By the way...that’s my Son in the last pic when he was 10. He’s 20 now and looking for his first C3! I was 25 when I bought my first C3 - a 77 Coupe.
