Gene and Judes underwater
This recent pic looks just like it did back during another flood in 1987. I lived 4 houses south of Grand Ave and River Road back then. You can see the roof, it's brown with the beige siding. Would party at the Thirsty Whale, grab some grub at Gene and Judes and then stagger home.

Mustard is good on everything. Ketchup has no business on a hotdog or a cheeseburger..... It's for fries,tots,and onion rings only. Hope things dry up quick for you guys. We didn't get any rain here in HSV from Ike but did get a little wind (very little wind). Were all just gettin ready for the autumn edition of tornado season....

A real Chicago dog will never have Ketchup on it. We usually "run it true da garden" but no ketchup. Mustard is ok though. Gene & Judes is a "Chicago" institution but it ain't even in Chicago is it? Is that area Chicago?
For all you that are reading, most people that live within 50 miles of Chicago "THINK" they live in Chicago but don't. Those of you guys that live in some suburb in northern Illinois DON'T live in Chicago!  I know that Dan Vasic grew up in Logan Square which is in Chicago so he is cool but the rest of ya......BEAT IT!  Here are some pre requsits for saying that you live in Chicago or some place very close. You live in a bungalow or 2 flat (Graystone or bungalow style 2 flat"). You have a tavern within a block or two of you that is in the middle of a residential neighborhood. You have a frickin alley! You are walking distance to some form of public trasportation. You or your parents are first generation immigrants. You live a couple of minutes from a "famous" pizza joint!

Wow!!!.........Haven't watched the Chicago news lately and didn't realize there was still an issue with the water.......
For those of you that are not familiar with Gene and Judes........It's a Hot Dog place that sells "Only" Hot Dogs, Fries, and Tamales......The Fries are put right on top of the Hot Dog and you eat it that way......The line is usually almost out the Door at any hour of the day......Pretty Cool........ Ken ("And"...If you try and Order "Ketchup" on a Hot Dog.....they Shoot you right on the Spot......LOL )
