1969 427 Block Stamp thoughts
Hello all, I found this 1969 427 block available for sale. Casting number 3963512.
Cast date C 12 69. 4 Bolt mains. I can’t make heads or tails out of the pad stamps. Anyone have any thoughts on what this decodes to? I appreciate your input. Thanks Rob

Seems to be a lot of these popping up lately. Mine is a August '68 cast 270 block, 7BL suffix. I've found a few very desirable engines in the old cabin cruiser type boats in graveyards over the years. Those usually have corrosion issues. The racing boats usually ran a closed cooling system, from what I've learned from researching the sport.

Thanks for everyone's help. I'm searching for a good clean standard bore 427 for my Camaro. Plan is an L88 spec build. So 4 bolt main is a must. Not sure if a marine block is for me. Rob
