Saddest '60 Corvette Project Ever
Never thought I would see this in my lifetime - someone swapped an old Toyota 4-cyl engine into this poor mess.
So many questions. Link to 1960 Corvette auction |

Was the fuel shortage really that bad in the 80s? I was just a kid....

----Tony, you have the makings of a great comedian. At Classic Motors years ago we made a trip just over the border into Missouri to look at was what was supposed to be a 67 big block Corvette that needed restoration. When we got the hood open we saw an iron duke 4-cylinder in the engine bay. Most of you will know what an iron duke is. Got a good laugh out of that and passed it up.....Bill S

Looks like something you'd see in Cuba. I'm suprised it doesnt have an old Russian diesel in it.

"1960 Chevrolet Corvette -Title In Hand This is a great piece of American history!!"
AND, all original, except for paint and engine. Wow, I know these were not worth much in the 70's, but that is such an abomination. Motorhead 848, it was the mid 70's that the oil embargo had this country crippled and yes it was that bad that MANY muscle cars lost their original engines for smaller displacement and more mpg. That car would present better if they yanked the engine and sold it as a roller and even then, I don't see 24k for a starting point to resurrect that vehicle. With the bumpers rusted to dust, I can't imagine the frame is much better.

Looks like a recent Rustoleum roller paint job on it too.
