Re: reproduction polyglas tires
All of them do that, Eagle ST's I had some time ago did it, it is the stuff in the rubber bleeding onto the white.
Every once in a while scrub them with some mineral spirts on a terry rag and they will brighten right up. I do the same with my redlines too. Mike |

Re: reproduction polyglas tires
Most of the time, it is the stuff that we use to make the tires shiney. Use an SOS pad and it will clean the tires and white letters right up!!!!

Re: reproduction polyglas tires
After tires are cleaned I sometimes apply some WD-40 on a clean terry cloth towel/small rag and wipe the letters. They come up nice and white with the WD. I also like Comet and a semi-soft scrub brush initially.

Re: reproduction polyglas tires
I don't know about you guys, but I have a set of repro polyglas tires for shows and radials for cruising.
I stacked the polyglas tires on top of each other in the corner of my garage for about 6 months and when I put them back on the car, the white letters had turned a yellowish brown, black. So, don't stack your tires on top of each other with out putting something in between them like clean old towells or sheets or something.
