Default Rivet question

ElCamino vent windows, are held to the frame with a small rivet. This is the rivet that is sold to replace the one I had to drill out to remove the glass/chrome frame. The end is hollow. Does anyone know how to install/crimp this rivet? Special tool? Certainly not any type of rivet, I've used.

Bill
Yes they required a special die for the hollow end. Then they were squeezed. Same as a riveted brake shoe.
Sorry I can not help on th tool.
Are the rivets you bought stainless steel or plated steel ?

Mike

Does anyone have a photo of a crimped one? Then we could figure out what would be required to form the new one...
Probably something with a male die to go into the end of the rivet a short chamfer to roll the rivet...

Bill I have installed 100's of these exact rivets (they are used on all mid year coupe vent window frames). You can do this easily with normal shop tools. I spent an hour detailling instructions on how to do it but my post got wiped. e-mail me and i'll send them to you, Rich

Funny this has come up now, because I just recently found that site and am thinking about their 6000A tool for the original alum rivets used on the early Chevs...
