Default 1967 Camaro L78 bad wreck

I have been looking for these pictures from this bad wreck for long time did not realize that I had it on slides instead of pictures from 1974 when I took them. Was coming home from work and stopped in a bar in Milford, New Jersey and at closing time the 2 guys in the Camaro asked people to road race them and they got as far as the concrete bridge where the stream went under the road and they did not let up were going over 100 when they hit the bridge both died and the engine ended up way up in the stream. I came back next day took these pictures. This is why you don't race on the roads. Will post second pictures below.

Looks like Marina Blue, black top, not an RS, no wheelwell trim or pinstripe. Dog dish caps would indicate body color wheels 'from the factory.' I think I see traces of the black nose stripe and the small SS emblems don't seem to be there--maybe knocked-off in the wreck. If it had black pinstripes then it should have wheelwell trim too, at least as far as 'from the factory' is concerned.

Leach was kind enough to send me the shots via e-mail and I am temporarily hosting them resized on my website. Over the years I have found that even early wreck photos can help us learn a little more of what is correct on these cars.

In this case all I can say is the greatest thing that can be learned is to use good judgment no matter the age of the car. This is indeed one of the worst wreck shots I have seen in quite a while. We all even though very late should feel a bit of the pain that the families involved have gone through and wish them the best.
