Default Is it a MuscleCar?

I have a friend of mine who is New to Car's. He just got a 1980 Z28 that is a stickshift, He asked me if His car is considered a muscle car ? Now i have a 1979 transam that's also a stickshift, And i told him that these are the cars that are Gonna shoot up in VALUE!! Especially the Stickshift ones, But im not to sure if these second gen f-body's are considered "MUSCLECARS"?? It just seems like the 1st gen's get a lot of attention and the price's for these car's just Exploded!!! I would like to know are these late model 2nd gen F-body's MUSCLECAR's????

I believe the PC opinion on muscle-cars would start out with the requirement of the car being built between 1964 and 1972. So no, I don't consider either of those cars a muscle car but they do often mix into that genere with little objection.

It is so subjective on what people think is a muscle car anymore but that does not mean you should not enjoy the cars you have. One of my neighbors is driving a perfect 78 Trans Am and it always catches my eye when it goes by.

I have a lot of FUN driving my '79 TA . I had to take out the smog bog engine, To have the power i needed but it is all there , No rust , Or T-tops!!! My buddy who has the Z28- took offense to this post , He doesnt GET IT, About his car NOT considered a Muscle CAR. Also he just Bought the Z28-and this is his 1st Stick car, He DIDNT run the numbers on the car , But Asked me to. Well it turns out it is a CLONE!!!!! The previous owner took a Regular camaro and MADE it in to a Z28- The car was born with a 305 with a stick, Non posi. Its now a fully loaded Z28 with a 350 & a BW-T5-5 speed & posi . Now I Tried to EXPLAIN to My Friend, CLONES are not worth ANYTHING!!! But just enjoy the car AND have FUN with it!!!
