Default My old Hemi Dart is famous...and I never knew it!

Nothing like finding out you owned one of Dick Landy's cars long after you sold it!

The thread started out with someone looking for a link to Steve Juliano's 70's psychadelia/car collection but mistakenly confusing it with me and my old cars. So thanks to an alert by one of the guys here (442w30) I chimed in and quashed some of the old longstanding rumors. I posted some original as-found before and after resto photos of some of my old cars.

One of them was this 1968 Hemi Dart. A real LO23 car that was way too much of a race car for me to restore. I'm glad I didn't, because the guy who eventually did restore it found out it was one of Dick Landy's cars.

Here's the link. The reveal is on page 3:

and how about this - the original warranty Certicard for a car that was sold without a warranty!

and the odometer with 1/4 mile on it:

Just googled "Dick Landy Hemi Dart" and came up with the Car Craft story on the car.

http://www.carcraft.com/featuredvehi...hra/index.html

Glad to see the car got restored correctly. I sold it because it was just too tubbed amd mod'ed to restore on my skill level at the time. It needed and entire floor from the mid-firewall to the tail lights. It was totally tubbed out, even the tranny tunnel was gone.

Rita,
My kids already think I'm senile. Why wait for the grandkids to confirm it.

I showed this photo to my kids while I was digging pictures out to post on the Moparts site.

They laughed hysterically and the boy says: "Nice hairdo, Dad!"

I responded proudly: "It's not a "hairdo"...it's a Mullet, Dammit...and it's your heritage!"
