With that combo and 4;56 rear I'll bet that sucker pulls like crazy. Sounds like an exciting car!

Re: 63 Impala SS 409-425 Horse
I don't know of it racing at Suffolk. It had big gold lettering on the front fenders. Both originals were used on the car, it would have been cool to keep one of the original lettered up fenders.
I'll post a picture of it leaving the line as "Fine 409". |

Bill, code 950, black with white top....
Here's a picture in its race form with the original paint. This shot is from the mid 60's. The original Crager mags go with the car. The paint code is 950, black with white painted top. |

Re: 63 Impala SS 409-425 Horse
My wife is originally from Patchogue, NY. When I moved to LI in 1981, I remember the Patchogue Chevy dealer on Montauk hwy, was I believe Nessenger.

Re: 63 Impala SS 409-425 Horse
Based on the VIN on the block, that car was produced at the beginning of August '63 (very late production) at the Tarrytown plant (should have a T in the VIN) and it makes sense based on the 4th week of July body built date on the cowl tag. Nice car. It's hard to find real ones.
