Wow. I'm a diehard Chevy guy (and a bit partial to Buicks too). Then this rolled through the garage door:
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It's an '86 SVO that is pretty well loaded (no leather though). It has just a wee bit over 9,000 original miles. Originally (factory ordered) and purchased in Trail, BC, the second and last owner of 23 years, never drove it in the rain. In fact, I don't think he drove it much at all. His hands never touched the steering wheel or shifter without driving gloves ....there was a plastic bag over the shifter knob so that guys like me never got our grubby hands on it! I'll get some other pix later, but the exterior is the worst part of the car...L-O-L (original mint-mint-mint paint save for the driver door where there was an scratch fixed...whole door was repainted). Interior, engine compartment and undercarriage is unbelievable. When I climbed underneath armed with a high powered lamp, I almost couldn't believe what my eyes where seeing . The last owner was a fanatic. He had the complete undercarriage nut and bolt detailed to the tune of $9,000. Every piece was taken apart, detailed and put back in. Anything that wasn't perfect was replaced with (only) NOS pieces. As some know, I'm a former employee of the NCRS, and even after being jaded by more than a few huge dollar Top Flight cars, this Mustang blows me away. Runs and drives as new. I bought it on a whim and I'm wrestling with selling it on (what else... )....Ebay. Anyway, it's an absolutely incredible car and I thought I'd share it with you. Wayne |

Always liked the fact that they had 5-lug wheels and you'd see TONS of 5.0's for every single SVO sighting.

Let me see The guy in British Columbia never drove it in the rain? Well, since it rains every day out there that is why it only has 9,000 miles in 27 years. There are that few non-rainy days.
That's like a guy in Phoenix never driving a car when its sunny out. (Nice find, BTW) |

I've always liked the SVO's and that one looks just beautiful.
How does it drive?

Hi guys...
It drives just like, well, a turbo charged four cylinder...L-O-L. One of my pals (who frequents this board too) suggested I'd be a wee bit disappointed with the acceleration. Bruce was dead nuts on! Let's just say, the pucker factor ain't exactly huge . Pretty much like driving an eighties BMW 3-series (exhaust note and all)...and I'm pretty sure that's what Ford's target was. If I keep it (and I probably will), it will become a project car for Drag Racer magazine - even on a whim, that was the original thought stuck in the back of my head when I bought it. There are so many parts available for Fox body Mustangs, I'm sure we can, uhm, improve the go Wayne |

Sorry, I forgot to answer your question Sam: Turbo four banger with an intercooler, five speed, 7.5-inch rear; Lincoln bits for the suspension and brakes (hence the early use of five lug wheels on a Fox). Intercooler lives directly under the hood scoop. Eighties high tech...L-O-L.

A 1992 "50" Vortech-supercharged SAAC MK-1 Factory Ford Mustang sighting this week end was neat too. IT was white with blue strips too.

Its the 'rare' year too. The 86's were dual exhaust and the collectable SVO's. 85's were single exhaust, dual tip.. Like to see undercarriage pics
