I was recently discussing some 68 Yenko facts with a friend and we were not positive on a couple of things and were hoping some of the experts might be able to clear them up.
Which short block would have been more likely to be used in a post April 68 car, the 3935439 or the 3916321 427? Both were available after January and would likely depend on what GM had on their shelves so maybe there is no rhyme or reason to which could have been used. Secondly, were all 11 of RS Yenko Camaros Matador Red or are there any other known colors that were delivered from Yenko in an RS? It seems like every RS I know of is Matador Red with a black vinyl top. Are there others? Thanks for your help. Rick

YS-8037 is an RS/SS and it is Corvette Bronze with a black vinyl top. It was featured in the August 2011 issue of Muscle Car Review and is the factory air car that was sold new in Florida. It was also the August 2002 Supercar Feature on this site. It was owned by Bill Emmerich at the time.

No, Bill Wertheim used to own YS-8051 which is an SS without a vinyl top and was sold new at Luby Chevrolet in Miami FL.
Yes, the Emmerich car is a 410 horse 427 with an M20 and A/C. There is a story on that car in the Supercar Feature's section on this site. |

![]() .... I have heard that some 1968 "YS.... " numbers were never used on cars. ... that for some reason those numbers were "skipped over" and never assigned to a vehicle ??? ... Is that correct? |
