I got an email from Jim Schornack last night. It seems Milt is ready for retirement and wants to sink a few bucks into his new 1966 ROYAL Pontiac Race car replica.
So, the 1969 Ram Air V GTO - one of only three known to exist (one of them is in Japan, I believe) is going on eBay for sale. ![]() Anybody got a clue what this car will bring in on eBay?? Mac ![]() Approx. 500 HP churns out of this RAV 400 Poncho! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Has this car been repainted recently? I saw the car at one of the Pontiac Drag Days a few years ago, and it did not have engine, and it looked like it needed a resto. The paint was pretty bad. Cool car though.

a lot depends on how complete the V engine really is.Does it have the correct carb, dist, balancer, block and the big item, the cast iron exhaust. It is a 69 GTO,what is one worth with a non matching engine? The engine if complete with exhaust could be worth 30K.I have a 69 GTO with a complete correct 455 RA V engine less castiron exhaust and there are more than 3 around.Tom

As far as I know, the intake is correct, but it might have headers.
It is on eBay now, so you can go there for a better description. I was only noting the sale because it is (probably) interesting to Poncho guys. I've already received a couple of somewhat abusive emails for my post, which was only made in good faith and for the FUN of it. If I'da known I was gonna be spanked by anal-retentive 'tards I would have just refrained from posting it. Doesn't anyone have FUN in this hobby anymore? :-( Goat72

I'm going to stir up the pot here a little....as far as I know there never was a Ram air V production engine installed in the factory...everything I read says that RAV were engine parts that were installed at the dealer....such as rods,crank......RAIV heads......bigger cam........maybe I'm wrong here...i also heard that a RAV crate engine was available back in the day assembled by the dealers......anyone know the exact story..

been covered a lot.The factory made at least 100 RA V 400 crate motors. There were 25 303 SCCA crate engines built to get the cars leagal. The 25 303 engines were brokeup in parts and given to diff racers. There were also lots of over the counter parts avail. The hardest parts to find are the blocks, carbs, exhaust manifilds and dist. There were also develpomental parts like 2-4 intakes,X ram intakes, tach drive dist,4in and 4.21 stroke 3in main cranks.
