Default 68 camaro 07B AA?

I found this camaro on e-bay.It's a Factory black code AA built 07B. I thought black was cancelled early in the year? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayIS...sspagename=WDVW

VIN matches up with the 07B build. Black was dropped around Jan 68 I thought. I can't explain it

I would guess the car was ordered when black was avaiable. Then production was delayed for some reason. A more unusal color could have been a -- code. Earl

I am looking at the SS stripe on the nose of this car: Isn't this a '67 stripe? I thought the '68 stripe came over the top and down to the '396' emblem and then lengthwise back to the door. Can anyone help me with this one. All of my books are at the shop...and I am helpless without my books.
Thanx,

You could still get a '67-style nose stripe in '68. The '67-style stripe was the standard '68 SS stripe and the door stripe was optional.

I thought the stripe style changed around Jan 68 from the nose only stripe to the nose and down the side of the car stripe. I didn't think you had a choice, early production cars had one , later cars had the other.

Kurt really knows the tags. I have seen two later 68 cars that were factory black and both had -- for the paint code. Have seen one early 69 car that was black and it also had -- code, so AI don't beleive black was "reinstated" as a standard order color before the beginning of the 69 model run. My 69 is 10 10 black, but not made until first week of Aug 69.
