Sorry guys…… I don’t normally like to complain in writing but this one really pisses me off! Ebay just cancelled all my auctions because I accept CASH as a form of payment.
That’s friggin’ UN-American! They tell me it’s against Ebay’s payment policy to state that you accept cash. I reviewed their policies and can see where you are not allowed to solicit buyers to mail cash, which makes sense, but that’s not what I stated in my listings. My payment options usually read something like: I accept cash, money orders, cashiers checks, PayPal, etc.…….. And I don’t want to state something like I accept COD, because I do not ship something that hasn’t been paid for yet. Many of my buyers are local and prefer to pay me cash when they come pick up their items. They get to inspect the item, and if it’s what it was supposed to be they pay for it. I’ve done this since 1998 and it’s worked fine so far. Not only that, but all my auctions are completely gone from my account, so I can’t even re-list them with the corrections they tell me I have to do! There’s a whole friggin’ day of my time originally spent listing the items completely wasted. Not to mention the listing fees I paid (which are not refunded). So how come they couldn’t just tell me to revise the listing or it might be cancelled (still had a week to go, plenty of time)? A simple heads-up would have been sufficient to deal with the problem. They were kind enough to contact all my bidders to tell them my auctions were cancelled. I wonder if they bothered to tell them why they were cancelled?????? OK, enough of my bitchin’…… Just thought I should warn you other Ebay sellers that evidently you can’t take cash anymore…….

Ebay did something similar to me before. I had 50 or so auctions and lost all my descriptions, etc. I wrote to them and explained the situation. They refunded all my listing fees and reinstated my auctions in the ended category of my ebay so I could relist them at the touch of a button. I'm not sure if they will do the same for you but it is definitely worth a try. Even if they do reinstate your auctions, look forward to some short sales. The auctions they reinstated did not sell for much even know there were some very nice items. I think this is because many potential buyers thought there was something fishy going on due to the sudden ending then relist. The bummer is I did nothing wrong and lost time and money due to a mistake that was not mine.
I hope it works out for you, Jason |

Thanks Charles for the heads up. One more reason to stay clear of peebait. They are just not happy if they aren't squeezing every last nickel from both sides of the table.
