Default email notification of PMs

I am no longer getting email notifications of private messages sent to me. My preferences are OK with that function checked. I have not made any changes to my email.
Any thoughts?

Thanks
Verne

Do you have a spam/junk mail box in your email account?

Just coming out of a similar problem.
Apparently I couldn't log on here,or more importantly receive any email notifications from sYc with a temp password...Maybe the computer wasn't ommiting "removemefirst" from my email?
I notice most everyone on here has an email formatted like RedL78@_removemefirst_juno.com
Where as mine is being displayed as smooshed together [email protected]
Could that be why?

Thank's to Charley & Rob who bypassed it.

I've NEVER received any notice of PMs unless I was logged on. Thought that was normal.

Dennis,

In your "My Home" area...there are buttons that you can toggle off and on...

Verne,

I would think that Rob is on the right track as far as why you aren't getting the notifications that you used to get Verne. I would think it would have something to do with your SPAM email account. Have you updated/upgraded your email account lately...or has your internet provider done this?

You can also try and restore the defaults in your internet property settings (Right click on internet explorer and choose properties)...or as a last resort (if it bugs you that badly...) you can restore your computer to an earlier time frame where you weren't having this problem (not recommenrded ).

Good luck!

Bruce,
I'd rather not revert to an older setting since Explorer automatically downloads updates to solve problems. I did check my McAfee spam settings and they're set to place anything that seems like spam into my Inbox with a (Spam) prefix. The only ones that don't get through at all are ones where I've blocked senders.

Don't knock yourself out on this one Rob. I'm usually on the site every day anyway (when I'm home). It was convenient however to have an email pop through when I received a PM. That way I could reply more promptly, which I think is a benefit to the sender.

Verne

OK, forgive an old man but are we talking about e-mails or PMs?

Are you saying you receive an e-mail at your home account when you have a PM here? I get the pop-up notice about PMs here (NOT the damned horn that stopped my heart the first time! ), but only if I'm logged on.
