Default Found this 427 on Craigslist.....

Found this on Craigslist. I have no affiliation with the seller, just thought someone may have an interest in it if it is a legitimate COPO motor or is missing the #s one for their car.....

Isn't April '70 too late for a COPO motor? It would just be a 512 block no?

I exchanged emails with the seller yesterday and the engine is actually a CE block that replaced the engine in a 69 COPO Camaro that came from his father's dealership. He said there was a bidding war on the engine. I bowed out. He said the stampings and dates were: "CE1 52661 back of block is date code E4 70".

The 512 casting was also used for 454 applications in 1970. Same bore with a deeper stroke.

I didn't ask. Story of the Camaro sounded interesting though. If interested drop him an email through Craigs List. I don't want to post his email address without his permission.
