Default 3823474 Z/28 crank

I have a small journal Z/28 crank with forging number 3823474. And yes, I put my glasses on and checked it twice. Considering selling, as I do not have a 67 Z/28. It has the single offset "V" notch in the flange so I know it is definitely for a 302, not a 283. Still standard on rods and mains. Am considering selling, but don't want to misrepresent it. Has anyone ever heard of this forging number? Was it an over the counter replacement?

Can't find it in any reference material. I know the parts references may not even state the forging number, as it does not necessariy correlate with the part number. any guidance?

My book shows 3823474 is a 283.......forged..small journal....3.00" stroke, military tank use.

I have had 2 of these that were NOS in the OEM boxes in the past and they were not balanced for the 302 engine.

They can be correctly balanced and held up very well.

Yes that helps. Never knew there was a SBC powered tank. I am really surprised that a 283 crank, even for a TANK, would have the "V" notch in the forging. Just out of curiosity, I looked very closely to determine if the notch was cut into the flange to make it look like a 302, but it is clearly not machined in, and is in the exact location of the 1178 large journal crank I compared it to. I believe this one has already been balanced at one point, because it has some drilled holes in counterweights that are smaller than the others. Anyway, no way would I put an engine together with "gathered" parts without having the entire rotating assembly balanced, so not a big deal to me.
