The glue I used is IPS Weld-on #16
IPS Corp. Box 379 Gardena,Ca 90248 It worked the best. If your going to race 1/4 mile I would put brackets in the corners and screw them together. Kim

Thank's Kim!
Were the originals 3-piece? It looks like the one on the #1 ZL-1 was one-piece vacuum formed. And after seeing some pics of your car, I could have sworn you went with a one-piece design too in the last few years. And yes, this will be going on a race car (not show car), so it will need to hold up to constant abuse (9.5's to 9.70's at 135 - 140 mph). Thanks again for your help! Keith

Yes. I think that is on the 2nd Gen Camaro that initiated this thread.
The one on the #1 ZL1 is clear. But yes that is the style I want to build.

The first scoop I put the center part in between the sides . The 2nd scoop I put the center part on top of the sides. It held up a little better. It still broke ,but the glue held and the glass broke. The pressure broke it. I think what caused it to break is my scoop is open in the front by 2" ,air got in there and cracked it. I think if the front is sealed it wont hurt it. Who knows?? My scoop is 3 parts, the center is clear and the sides are smoked red.

Kim, I'd like to make a similar scoop for Benjamin's car, what did the final version look like?
What would you do differently, would / could you make the top and sides out of one piece and only have to glue the portion where the top angles down the front? I'm thinking of a one piece unit in green....

Marlin, I made three scoops, not one of them held up.
What I did different, I had one made. In the long run they were cheap compared the time and money I had in the three I made. Let me find their phone # . John Diekema found this place I think in Davenport , Ia. John drove the ZL-1 at a couple of the reunions. Let me get their # from John and get back to you . Kim
