This goes down as one of the all time biggest Ebay flops. I bid $266 with 20 seconds left on the auction. I have confirmation emails of this bid along with noticing the automated ticker update instantly. Some how you still won the auction at $250 when I was clearly bidding more. I don't know what your final bid was so I do not want to insinuate I would have won the auction, but at the very least I would have been competitive. I'm not mad, and I'm thrilled someone from the forum won those tires, but I very perplexed as to why my bid did not go through!

AWESOME tires and nice score!

Dan

Dan,
That has happened to me before..and many others. Sometimes depending on traffic there is a lag between the time you bid and it actually officially gets "recorded" electronically by Ebay even though it says your bid got logged in at 20 seconds to go.

On the Ebay Community chat boards there are threads about these lag bids. can't remember the exact reason but in a nutshell, Ebay did not want the Wall Street closing bell affect..that is sometimes 10-15 minutes after the closing bell the market continues to go up or down due to the rush of people buying or selling at 3:59 and the system finally catching up to their orders.

I make sure I click my final bid around the 40-45 second mark.

Nice find on the wheels and tires.
Have any of you guys used Esnipe? I've never lost an auction since going to it, provided my max bid is high enough.

I had a $275 max bid... sorry Dan. If its any consolation, they are going on a worthy car.

I was watching also to see what they'd sell for. The side wall design is very similiar to these but without the colors.

These are nos but they were mounted on a pair of wheels in a speed shop. I wonder what they would go for?
