Here's some numbers I have found.....Thanks for any help.

Front pad....... V0107DZ 1576024

Oil Filter....... 371 388 88N

Back of block........3956618

Heads........3927186

Couple pics..........

DZ is nothing but a suffix code. At least the block started life as a 302 it looks like. All those 4 bolt blocks could be in many applications. Have to see if the crank says 1178 on it. Its casted on the first throw up by the balancer. That is a Z/28 crankshaft. Rest of the stuff looks pretty good from here. DZ code looks like January 7th of 69.

If stampings are original and pad location correct for Vin, isn't there some digits missing between the 1 and 5?
9N if Norwood car?

VIN 124379N576024 ?

I checked the numbers on the crank and it is a 1178 and main caps are 2482.

Main caps would be the same for a 350....I think? The crank being an 1178 is a 3" stroke so you are good. Like I said DZ is a suffix code for a Z/28. Block is nothing special compared to other 4 bolt blocks.

You need to provide a good sharp image of the pad with the stampings. Use the Macro setting on your camera (Flower symbol).

Then we can see if it is a "real" DZ-block.

just checked with a friend who has an 01B norwood z-28. his vin is 9n575XXX and his vin is by the oil filter. i dont think that after they changed the location, they would go back to the pad.
