Default For all you Nova guys...

For all you Nova guys...

I was going thru some of my really old floppy disks and found a pic of the 66 I had in 1990. Man, what a car. The story behind this Nova goes like this. Original owner (a Wilmington Cop) ordered 2 from the dealer. Both were identical, one for street the other for the track. 12 bolt rears 327's 4 speeds both had no SS emblems on them. plane jane looking. I bought this one from a friend of mine that found a 67 SS to replace it. Not sure about the history of this car but it had a potent 327, fuelie heads, 30-30 cam, GM aluminum intake, 650 dbl pumper, 4.56's and Del Trans built turbo 350 with manual valve body, Z gate shifter, huge oil pan, really scraped the ground if it came down hard, 90/10/s. It was a hand full on the street. really love driving that thing. My wife hated driving that thing because she couldn't get the shifting thing down. Somewhere in it's life the complete interior went missing, buckets and console from what I was told, door panels and back seat all gone. What a shame. Had aluminum panels and a 3 point roll bar in side. I would take my kids for a ride in it and they loved hanging on to the roll bar. That car was light and fast. I still have the front plate, take a look at the front of my Z pic.

Not sure what the original color was on it but in the pic it is Robins Egg Blue with real light green flames. It had the old school Cragers on it and had a set of slicks that fit right nice in the wheel wells. Slicks were even screwed on to the rims. The first time I lauched that thing with the slicks on I damnn near lost it. If you look close you can see the towing brackets on front. The oil pan is hard to see but it was about 2" off the ground.
