69 Chevelle Ladder Bars
Just bought a pair from a member here for my 69 Chevelle. Can't wait to get them installed. Love the look.

The ones I bought from Gary here on the site bolt up where the lower control arms mount.

I remember a lot of fast street cars having ladder bars back in the day.....they looked so kewL.
For a show car, they look perfect for a Day 2 car. For a car that does get driven, they ride horrible. It’s like riding on a hay wagon, or worse. I had them on my Chevelle when I bought it 10 years ago. They lasted a very short time for multiple reasons. Kurt

I had them on my '67 SS. I disconnected them at the front, but left them on the car.

The best of both worlds (looks & additional traction) would be the ones that go in place of the stock lower control arms.

Build a swivel knuckle for the front mount. Mine hang 3 inches lower in the front, creating a much better working angle for the bars to do what they're supposed to. Doesn't bind since they allow the rear to move in an arc which is what gm designed. If you install a stiff leg to the rear, you're creating 2 forces fighting each other, hence the stiff rear. Hard to believe anyone ran these on the street back in the day without ripping something apart. As valuable as a good 12 bolt is today, it's just not smart.

Not ladder bars -- but I had a set that bolted to the upper controls arms ... 69' W-30 442. Can't remember what brand they were ... didn't seem to have issues with ride -- but really jacked up the rear of car on acceleration ...
