I agree. The lower knob was added to the AIM in March in 3 illustrations.
But it's confusing - 3895201 was replaced, but by the same number. 3895201 and 3895202 were in the early parts manuals, and then 3895201 was used with the 2-piece system. My question is: if the early knobs were one piece, how did they lock them into the right orientation for the shift pattern?

I’ll add a little more to the subject. Was the 69 black 4 speed two piece the same as the 67-68 except tapped 3/8 inch for a Hurst shifter?
