Default DZ Holley carb info needed

Hi, first time poster here. I picked up a used Holley carburetor and I am trying to determine if it is original equipment. It is a Holley 4 barrel, vacuum secondary List-4053, part number 3923289-DZ, with the number 992 under the list number. It appears to have the correct brass fuel block and lines. Can anyone tell me if this is an original 302 carb or did Holley make repro's with the original part numbers on them. Thanks in advance for any info, John.

It appears to be an original DZ carb by the date code.

Welcome to the board John. The telling number on your carb are the 992 . They are the manufacture date code for when the carb was built. First 9 is for 1969. Second 9 is for September. The 2 is for the second week of the month. What you have is a late production 69 Z28 carb, but I have had originals with dates that late too. Only problem with that late of a date is you need to find a car with about a month later build date to put it on.

Thank you for the quick replies. The carb is complete but will definately need a rebuild. I was going to put it on Ebay. What do you think it is worth? John

Whatever the market will bear. As John Brown said above, its a late production carb that would need to go on a late Z28 for those concerned with correct date codes. However, there may be someone looking for those very dates. Ya never know!

Not to discourage you, but Holley is repoping that carb. In any case....Good Luck!

I have seen the go for anywhere from $2-300, depending on condition.

Core value on original DZ carbs these days is upwards of 300.00 to 400.00 in unrestored condition. I have sold a couple and if the carb is totally gone through and recolored in original methods, it can reach price as high as 600.00 to 800.00 depending on the level of restore. It really depends on the overall condition of things such as the butterflies, throttle shafts, bores, and especially the condition of the base plate and whether its warped or not.

You might be better to sell it as an unrestored carb and let whoever buys it rebuild it in case you are not a carb guru. Hope that helps you out.
