Re: Fred Gibb Memorial Car Show 2010
What a Great Weekend with near perfect weather and some of the Best People you could ask for. Kenny Tatman and Crew at the Maple City Cruise in Monmouth just keep raising the bar and the crowd and cars get bigger and better every year. Well over 2500 cars line the streets in Monmouth and the Event Crew are gracious hosts.
Then to LaHarpe. Kenny Brown, Bob Lionberger, Jerry Burford and their wives and all the rest of the LaHarpe folks make you feel like you're coming home to a family reunion. It's all about the friendships we've made over the past few years, ..... with TONS of Muscle Car History from the Gibb Family and friends and hundreds of cool, cool cars.
One side note I have to bring up. Bob Lionberger was at both events with his 2010 Fred Gibb Edition Camaro. As cool as the car is (Huge cudos to Mr. Bimbi & Crew), the most outstanding part of the car is the owner. If you could bottle the joy you see in Bob's face every time he fires that car we could cure the ills of the world. I told Kwhizz Friday night; every time I see Bob smile I just wanna walk up and hug him. Knowing what that man has been through the past year or so, and seeing him now; healthy and happy, ...... well, ...... it couldn't happen to a nicer guy!!!!!! And at the end of the day Saturday Bob was talking with a young man (and future Camaro owner) so Bob offered to take the young fella for a ride. WOW: what a ride! A few of us had driven over to the old Gibb Dealership building for a photo opportunity and as we headed back to the show field we met a Jewel Red 2010 Camaro headed west out of town, past the former Gibb Dealership, stretching her legs with open exhaust roaring. I could just picture Fred looking down, shaking his head and smiling. You GO Bob!!!!!!!
Great Job Everyone and Thanks for the coverage Ken!
