You can use the typical "Car Show" methodology
ONE of ONE 20000 made 300 had consoles 200 were datona yellow 100 had Wide Oval tires 50 had an L78 25 had a red interior 6 had an underhood light 1 was built on the first Tuesday before the dark of the moon. By the way, no documentation but I have 82 signed owner statements. Super Chevy in Houston this year. A guy with a hugger orange COPO clone. As I was looking at the car a bystander asked him if it was a ZL1. He said no. It's a ZL2 as this was the iron block version. I started discussing the car with him and asked if it had a BE rear end? He said no, it's a 12 bolt. Two weeks ago I saw the car at the Corvette and Chevy show here in Houston being represented as a real COPO.
