I wasn't alive then, so what I'm gonna say has more to do with my 1980s paradigm:
If I see a LeMans, etc. dressed up like that, I think it's clapped-out. Perhaps for a GTO it would work for my eyes, but a T-37 should use more subtle mods. I guess the spoiler is throwing me off, as the rest sounds fine.
One wheel that I've always liked was offered by Oldsmobile for their big cars but also offered by a company (Motor Wheel?) and called it the "Exciter" I think? They're polycast like Honeycombs.
