1971 cutlass S 4spd convert
Could use some help. I have my best friend interested in a car another very good friend has. Its a 71 4 spd convert. Some brownish metallic (sierra?) with a copper looking interior. Frame is done, new lines, etc. Engine rebuilt and done. body is in primer. No interior.
Has its original 4spd. Also has some heads on it that supposidly match what a W31 would have.
Is this car fairly rare? Is there something I should look for to help them do a good informed deal? I dont want either guy to get burned, neither
knows enough, so want both side to be informed. I am clueless on olds like this. The one friend has 8500 in it, so its within a price range my other friend can afford, get a $6K paint job, do the interior for 3K, top for 1K, and get pretty close to a nice car for 20K. Colors may be pretty cool and rare (he said the sierra brown metallic was rare). How that looks with the copper interior, not sure.
One wants it gone, the other wants it because its a 4spd convert. He would put the W30 hood on it, likely pushing him past 20K for sure.
