This statement is of interest to me.

I had conversation with Mike Nixon relative to a '66 Grand Prix that he was restoring, which appeared to be factory Iris Mist painted over Tiger Gold.

In my years with GM assembly I never recall taking a (previously painted) body and respraying it a different color for use in a different build.
