1967, 1968 or 1969 Camaro SS survivor
Seeing a photo of Grumpy Jenkins’ 1967 Camaro in another thread today stirred up something... the look of that simple no-nonsense ‘67 Camaro SS really means business. Oh to find a solid original 1967 Camaro SS survivor and drop a 427 into it! I had a nice Tahoe Turquoise ‘67 SS/RS with gorgeous patina, but it was too original (with original 350, AC, etc) to take it apart and stuff a 427 into. I posted a Grumpy Jenkins clone on this site many years ago... shoulda jumped on that myself.
I’ve often drooled over this photo of Joel Rosen taking this ‘68 Camaro out for a test drive and lifting the front wheels... amongst traffic! I had a chance to snatch up a look-alike 1968 Camaro SS 396 survivor several years ago, but I zigged when I should have zagged. :-[ I’ve often stared at photos of Joe Oldham (RIP) and his ‘69 Phase III Camaro before it was stolen. That car looks absolutely killer in triple black with a stinger hood, Keystone Klassics and knowing that a 427 lurks beneath the hood. Just thought I’d throw it out there that I’d like to find a 1967, 1968 or 1969 Camaro SS with original paint (I don’t like rust but I do like patina). Something that needs a drivetrain (or already has a 427?) that I could turn some wrenches on. No rush... always looking for the right car that speaks to me.
