Correct.

Prior to 2000, three numbers were used for the DOT.

Starting with the year 2000, four numbers are used for the Date of Manufacture. The first two numbers identify the week and the last two numbers identify the year of manufacture. The other numbers and letters in the sequence identify manufacturing plant/shift/tire construction specs/etc.

Example......4201 would equate to 42 week of 2001.
